revisiting an old friend

I've been on a sketching "frenzy" for the past few days. Nothing compared to the daily production of guys like Ashley Wood or the Black Frog but quite a big deal for me. And it feels good.
This might even lead me to do some pages sooner than expected.

This one was done this morning, on a 5,45 x 3,6 inches Semicolon book that i find so iresistible i even took it to bed with me last night.

I've wanted to draw Kamandi for a while now. I've always loved Jack Kirby's art but, as a kid, Kamandi was the one comic that stood up.
So here's a quickie, done without references so excuse me if the hair is too short and the pants too long. I'll try to correct these mistakes when i go back and finish it.

Big Numbers 3

Big Numbers... Alan Moore's next masterpiece to be, a few years after Watchmen.
Sadly only 2 issues ever made it to print. But what phenomenal 2 issues they were/are.

Well the unpublished 3rd issue, completed by Bill Sienkiewicz before he handed the art reins to Al Columbia (oh, what a mistake that was), as been made available in hi resolution here. I haven't read it yet but can't wait to go home and pretend it's 1992 again.

a brilliant web-comic about... well... web-comics.
to me it made a whole more sense than McCloud's carefully researched but ultimately flawed crap on this subject. and it's a lot funnier.
